Aerodine Composites, LLC is a company dedicated to the science of advanced composite technologies. We offer expertise in the manufacture, alteration and repair of high performance, light weight composite structures serving fast paced and high growth markets
such as aerospace, motorsports and medical devices since 1989.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Production Manager working to support our growing composites manufacturing operation. This growth plan includes an upcoming expansion to a 50,000 square feet, state-of-the art production facility. The ideal candidate for this position will be a hands-on leader experienced in developing and executing plans to meet customer needs, and achieve the highest standards related to safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. The Production Manager plans and supervises manufacturing activities throughout all stages of production including tooling, lamination, assembly, inspection, and shipment, and will include responsibility for driving day to day accountability of production staff. This is a rare opportunity for a strong leader to establish a
manufacturing operation around their vision instead of inheriting a list of incumbent challenges.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Be a strong leader and communicator with a positive attitude to coach, train, motivate, and drive a team-oriented company culture.
  • Build a competitive team of associates by hiring and train individuals with varying levels of experience with composite materials and their associated processes.
  • Setup factory floor and new equipment to maximize flow while maintaining flexibility and supporting expansion schedule.
  • Define and put into practice a set of work instructions including work orders, technical information, man-hours, bill of materials and equipment required.
  • Actively participate in the costing and quotation processes
  • Work alongside Sales on program management for new and existing customers.
  • Oversee the production process, including creation and implementation of the production schedule.
  • Verify each step of production for accuracy and quality of the products while implementing robust procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Calculate and perform to multiple metrics such as productivity, uptime, first pass yield and on time delivery.
  • Maintain an accurate material inventory as well as forecasted usage to ensure that production inputs arrive in a timely manner.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and leadership to employees to ensure alignment with operational and organizational goals.
  • Administer company policies and conduct performance reviews for direct reports.
Required skills:
  • Knowledge of composite structure design and materials such as carbon fiber, Kevlar, and fiberglass laminates.
  • Knowledge of tooling, hand lay-up processes and materials.
  • Experience working in a demanding industry such as motorsports or aerospace with tight deadlines and high customer expectations.
  • Experience working with outside suppliers and/or production floors.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change in a manufacturing organization.
  • Ability to communicate technical detail clearly and concisely
  • Strong skills in training, managing and developing employees.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum 4 years experience working with composite materials.
  • High school education or equivalent with post-secondary manufacturing related training and certifications highly preferred. Technical or ngineering Degree is an asset.
  • 7 + years of manufacturing operations experience, preferably with 5 years of experience managing teams.
  • Prior experience in an industrial environment running simultaneous production programs.

Aerodine Composites, LLC is a company dedicated to the science of advanced composite technologies. We offer expertise in the manufacture, alteration and repair of high performance, light weight composite structures using carbon fiber, Kevlar, and fiberglass laminates.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Composite Technician in our Composite Manufacturing and Repair Department.

This position is responsible for hand layup of composite material into tooling molds using a variety of specialized hand tools. Familiarity with composite fabrication and vacuum bagging processes is a plus but not required. The candidate must be able to read and understand blue prints, schematics, and written work instructions.

The ideal Composite Technician will consistently maintain a high level of quality workmanship and will support policies and procedures upheld by Manufacturing and Quality departments.

The Composite Technician will also be responsible for maintaining work records and completing all applicable planning paperwork throughout the fabrication process.

The Composite Technician will also assist with the development of shop aids and fixtures and promote Lean manufacturing initiatives to optimize quality and productivity and is encouraged to identify process improvements as appropriate. The candidate must work closely with Lead Composite Technicians and Supervisors to meet build requirements and schedules.

The Composite Technician must have the ability to logically plan work steps and have good time management, interpersonal and communication skills and be able to adapt positively to a growing and changing work environment.
